Transition Game Success

Transition Game Success

I have been involved in the lives of  many players over the past 25 years in France as a coach/mentor on the amateur level and equally on the professional level (6 yrs old-Pro).  The focus of my involvement  has been player/person development, providing players with the necessary fundamentals and skills to be successful on the court and off, beyond the days of them playing basketball.  My two most notable players were  Joakim Noah, Chicago Bulls when he was 10 yrs old and Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs when he was 18 yrs old.   They both shared some common characteristics which set them apart back then and continues to set them apart today at the highest level.  They both have a deep  PASSION ! for the game, there  DETERMINATION! to be the best, and a tireless WORK ETHIC!

I was Joakim's first coach in organized basketball, which afforded me the opportunity to equip him with the individual and collective fundamentals and skills of the game.  I also played a key roll in his departure to the USA.  France could not provide a structure supportive enough to feed his hunger and passion for basketball so I advised his parents to take him to NY and the rest is well documented.  I was Tony's coach in his second year as a Pro.  I provided a platform for him to exhibit his potential as a pro when no one else believed he was ready.  My objective with TP was to teach him to be an accountable pro every day in view of his goal to play in the NBA.  We had a 3 year plan to reach his goal and he got drafted after his first year with me.
The second set of photos are 4 of many players who I helped to develop. I coached 3 out of the 4 from age of 15 up to the Pro ranks in France, one of the top leagues in Europe: #10 Sacha Giffa: small/power foward and in his 20th season as a pro.  Vincent Masingue #13:center/power foward retired 2 years ago after 19 seasons as a pro.  Both were also  memebers of the French National team.  #7 Steve Essart: Point guard in his 19th season as a pro.  Monsour Thiam was my point guard like Tony at the age of 18, he played several years in the French pro league and in Saudi Arabia.
The third set of photos are the future of French basketball whom I've had the pleasure to coach at a very young age in my club and during my annual basketball camp in France.  Most of these kids have been selected among the best in their region.
The last but not least and for sure the most tangible of what I can accomplish with your child is Johnathan Murphy.  Johnathan and I met when he was 14 and like many 14 year olds, no idea of what was needed to progress and take his game to a level of respectability from his coaches and teammates at the level he was at and equally important, coaches at the next level.  Johnathan's work ethic took him from being a bench player on his JV high school team to becoming a Pro european player.
I truely believe in the importance of providing the road map necessary for a player to become great on the court but more importantly instilling in the person the work ethic necessary for them to become successful in life!
